Jotai Law Firm and the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter Have Formed a Strategic Partnership

In August this year, Beijing Jotai Law Firm signed a strategic partnership agreement with the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter formally, and were invited to participate in the launch of the European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2023 (BCS) held in Chengdu and Chongqing on 15th and 18th September.

During the launch event, Mr. Chen Peng, Senior Partner and Director of Cross-Border Service Committee of Jotai, received the nameplate of strategic partner from Sally Huang, General Manager of the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter, for Jotai.



Opened in 2005 in Chengdu, the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter has a wide range of member enterprises in various industries such as construction, energy, transportation, automotive and professional services, with two-thirds of the companies located in Chengdu and one-third in Chongqing. The Sichuan and Chongqing regions are home to a number of important clients of Jotai, which provides EU-related legal services to local companies there. This strategic partnership aims to provide a one-stop service for EU companies in the region and to build a bridge between the legal and cultural differences between China and the EU.


As an invited unit of the launch event, Jotai set up a booth at the event to receive on-site consultation and business exchanges from member enterprises and partner organizations of the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter.


The launch of the European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2023 (BCS) in Chengdu and Chongqing attracted nearly 200 guests, including a number of Fortune 500 companies settled in Sichuan and Chongqing, member enterprises and partner organizations of the European Chamber Southwest China Chapter, and representatives of local governments. Jens Eskelund, President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, explained to the guests the investment, economic and trade trends and expectations for the future as reflected in the business confidence survey of EU companies in China.


After the launch, Mr. Chen Peng presented Mr. Jens Eskelund with the book DATA COMPLIANCE PRACTICAL GUIDANCE: KEY SCENARIOS AND TYPICAL INDUSTRIES, which was co-authored by Jotai and the Law School of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
